Professor Zingoni of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, informs me that 'South Africa has formally chosen to go the Eurocode way' - meaning it will adopt ENs 1992-9 (Eurocodes 2 to 9) and its own versions of ENs 1990 and 1991 (the head Eurocode and Eurocode 1).
In support of this initiative, the University of Cape Town has planned a series of Eurocode 7 training courses in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg for 20th, 22nd, and 24th October 2008, which I have been invited to deliver. These courses complement the successful set of courses on ENs 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993 that the University ran in 2007 and will be repeating in 2008.
More details about the geotechnical design course will follow in this blog.
